That’s me, crouched on a beach in the freezing cold, wearing a hoodie and taking photos of a car.
Seems a little ridiculous, right?
I chose this as my “About Me” photo because if we ever meet, this is exactly how I’ll be: oddly dressed, camera in hand, completely in my element. I’ve always been drawn to the things most people overlook, whether it’s a fleeting expression, an interesting story, or a train rolling through town at just the right moment.
I taught myself photography years ago as a creative outlet. Like a lot of people, I never expected it to take me anywhere. But somehow, that hobby opened doors I never imagined. Over the years, I’ve had opportunities to work behind the camera, step in front of it as a model, appear in media campaigns, and connect with some truly incredible people along the way.
Photography isn’t my full-time job these days, and I’m not chasing clients or obsessing over the newest gear. But I still love the craft, I still carry a camera more often than I probably should, and I still believe some of the best stories are told through images.
A few things you should know about me.
I’m autistic. While some people are surprised to hear that, autism has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It has shaped how I see the world, how I solve problems, and how I connect with people. It’s brought challenges, certainly, but it’s also given me strengths that I wouldn’t trade for anything. My goal has never been to let autism define me, but I’m proud to share my experiences in the hope that it helps others better understand their own.
Before photography, I spent much of my life in fire and EMS, eventually becoming an EMS Field Operations Supervisor. Later, I followed a lifelong passion for trains and built a career in the railroad industry. Along the way, I learned a lot about leadership, resilience, service, and the importance of finding purpose in what you do.
Outside of work and photography, I enjoy public speaking and advocacy. I’ve had the privilege of speaking about autism, growing up homeless, mental health, PTSD, overcoming adversity, and the realities of navigating life a little differently than most people. Those conversations are some of the most meaningful things I’ve ever been a part of.
At the end of the day, I’m a photographer, model, speaker, advocate, train enthusiast, and proud father. More than anything, I’m someone who believes that every person has a story worth telling, including the parts that aren’t always easy to share.
If you’d like to connect, collaborate, book a speaking engagement, or just say hello, feel free to reach out. And yes, as the kids say, you can still slide into my DMs.
